Card 28: 30 Days

Hello!

Here is Card 28 - only 2 more cards left - whoop whoop (hands in the air)! This card is using Cosmo Crickets Mitten Weather again, and this time I used the purple... it was not the easiest card I've ever done... and to be honest, I had more than a little crafters block!

It's a simple card, I used the Silhouette to cut out my scallop rectangle, but you can easily do that with a border/corner punch. I also used the Silhouette to cut out "Merry Christmas", and I used Diamond Glaze over it. I added some pseudo mistletoe leaves and a few buttons w/ribbon in the bottom corner and called it good!

Let me know if you have any questions on measurements! Can you tell, after 28 Card my descriptions aren't as thorough...

Card 27, 30 Days

Okay, so I actually figured it out and when I'm done with this it'll be 47 day of Cards... opps... but, after this is over I have a lot of fun projects that I've been working on to share with everyone!

Card 27 is Bubble's Card (my son and my nephew call my mom "Bubbles" instead of Grandma) - we don't know why, but it was fun and original so we just left it alone. My Mom tries to get them to call her "Grandma Bubbles", but it's kinda hard to make a 2.5 and 3 year old do anything that they don't want to do. Hence, Bubbles. Personally, I like it. And Bubbles gets a lot of compliments (or comments) on it.

Anyways, the card is a 4.25 x 5.5 in. card and it's made with the same Dear Lizzy paper line from American crafts. Its super easy. I don't even think I really have to explain it because it's so similar to the shadow box. I used stickles on my flower cut-outs (I don't know why it's taken me so long to actually cut out elements from a piece of paper) and I hand-wrote "Bubbles" on the card. Add a couple cute buttons and you're done. Talk about an easy card sketch!

Tomorrow is all about Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather paper line - and I used the purple side of the paper, soo daring! I'm not going to lie, it was difficult but I'm pretty happy with the outcome...

Card 26: 30 Days

Hello Again,

I know, I said that I'd be back last night and then I wasn't! Sorry! I actually tried to do my post last night but realized that the picture I'd taken of the card was all blurry and difficult to see, so I have to wait till my Mom brings back her card for me to take another picture of it! But, I decided that I'd show you the shadow box that I made her for Grandparents day, which is very similar to the card.

I took a Cosmo Cricket black shadow box and made a picture display for each of the grandparents. I tried to pick paper that would match where I thought they'd place it, so I figured that my Mom would put hers in her scraproom, which is pink/black/white and girly, so I picked the Dear Lizzy line of paper from American Crafts. All I did was cut strips from coordinating paper and glue them to the bottom of the box and then to the lid of the box (I only did the side that had the opening). I adhered a scallop border punched piece of paper to the papers as well and then added some lace. I cut out the flowers from their paper and glued them down to the box, but added foam tape to one. I added 2 buttons, one next to the flowers and one on the lid and a little bow. I put Diamond Stickles on the flowers and then we took pictures of Adam with each of the grandparents and I'll add those to the inside of each of the boxes.

I made one for each of the grandparents and Adam handed out the presents at our Grandparents Day Pizza Party!

Card 26

Just FYI - I haven't forgotten, it's just that Card 26th is waiting to be given to Grandma Bubbles tonight at our Grandparents Day Pizza Party! So, once that happens I'll post the pictures...

Card 25: 30 Days

I'm back - from the most magical place in the world! Disneyland ROCKS!

We decided to skip the BIG vacation that we had planned - taking the family boat and the parents 5th wheel to Lake Meade for a week - and do something close to home and low stress... hence, Anaheim - specifically, Disneyland and Angels Baseball! It was great fun, fantastic time with the hubby and baby - a lot of QT that we needed. Also, the World of Color at California Adventure is fantastic, both me and DH loved it!

Anyways - here's card 25 - I can't believe that I only have 5 more cards to do!! That's awesome! This card is a Halloween Card using Making Memories "Toil and Trouble" paper/embellishment line. I can't take credit for this card either - my Mom made it for an upcoming class, but I think it's super cute and an easy way to use scraps!

You need 3 pieces of coordinating patterned paper and a solid card base (hers is 5 x 5 in.). You cut the squares all the same size (hers are 1.5 in.) and put adhere them to the card. You then take a rectangle (she cut hers using the Silhouette for the scalloped edge but you can duplicate it with a border and corner punch), and then cut a smaller cream solid for the center. She also used the Silhouette for her fence, but I know that both EK and Martha Steward have similar fence punches. Adhere the fence to the card and then adhere "BOO" cut from QK Haunted font. Don't put your rectangle on quite yet!! Wrap a piece of organza ribbon (hers was cream but she used Tattered Angels in Mimosa and sprayed it orange) around the card, close to the top, tie a bow. Then take a piece of black solid and use a spider web border punch (EK) on it, then adhere the webbed pieced to the ribbon. Once you have both the ribbon and the web piece down, you can adhere you rectangle. Add a flower/skull embellishment (MM Toil and Trouble) to the center of the organza bow. Add black rhinestones all around your rectangle piece and on parts of the fence and here you go - a perfectly delightful and frightful Halloween Card!

On Vacation!

Hi!
Just a quick note to let you know that I am on vacation with my family this week so the 30 Cards:30 Days will be postponed until Saturday... I think it's more like 30 Cards: 45ish Days but it just doesn't have the same ring to it!!! Hope you all have a great week and hopefully when I return on Saturday I'll be full of creative spunk!

Card 24: 30 Days

I stole this card from my Mom :) She made it for our upcoming October Favorite's Cards Class at Collective Journeys... and I think it's very cool!

She did a basket weave with 5 different colors of ribbons - she did the weave on a square (I think 4.5 x 4.5 in.) and then she created the scalloped square card with the Silhouette. She then glued in the weaved piece to inside of the card so that you'd see it through the window. Add a few buttons and a bow and here it is... you could always add a sentiment or something, but I think it's pretty darn impressive just the way it is!
