Happy Ooey Gooey Valentine's Day!

I love me some Valentine's Day.  I love the idea that a Holiday is centered around showing someone you care about them.  The chocolate, red and pink colors and hearts don't hurt either!

Yesterday I shared the Valentine's that Adam made for his classmates, but today I'll share what he/we made for his teachers!

Can you see all of the different layers?  In my opinion, this is the turduchen of deserts... you don't know what that is?  It's a turkey with a duck and chicken stuffed inside of it.  And it's so easy to make!

Most of these ingredients we always have on hand.  You'll need a large baking dish, wax or parchment paper, cooking spray, chocolate cookie dough (homemade or store bought), Double Stuffed Oreo's and brownies (homemade or a mix).

First, heat your oven to 350 degrees.  Then grab your dish and line it with the wax paper.  Then spray your wax paper with cooking spray - make sure you get all of it otherwise your edges will stick.

Press your cookie dough into the bottom of your dish.  I let Adam do this part - the hard part was keeping him from licking his fingers between presses!

Grab your Oreos and start laying them out.  You can space them as close together as you want.  I started the rows and Adam finished them.
Next, mix your brownie mix.  I use Ghirardelli's, so I mixed the water, oil and egg together and then let Adam add the brownie mix to the bowl.  He then stirred it all together and we both spread the brownie batter on top of the Oreo's.  Now, I used a Triple Chocolate Brownie Mix, but I think a regular one would work better, the chocolate chunks in the mix made it harder to spread the batter.  You can also add fudge ontop of the brownie batter if you'd like.  You know, if this isn't enough chocolate for you!

And since this is Valentine's, we added pink, red and white sprinkles.

Cover your brownies (I used foil) and place in oven for 30 minutes.  When 30 minutes is up, take the foil off and let it cook for another 12-15 minutes.  Let cool.  Once cool you can grab your wax paper and lift out of pan to cut into squares.

Yum.  The cookie dough is the bottom layer, the Oreo's the next (I love that you can see every layer!) and then the brownie layer on top!  I would add vanilla ice cream and some fudge on top - just to push it over the edge!

And of course, since Adam is giving these as gifts, we had to package them!

We used the QuicKutz Popcorn box and Adam cut 2 from kraft cardstock for his teachers (I swear, he cut them).  We then grabbed scraps of paper and a few punches/stamps and went to work.

I cut the brownies into squares and placed them into cello bags and tied it at the top with - you guessed it - Baker's Twine.  Both of these are for Adam's Teachers!

Adam wanted to give a few more treats to other's, so I packaged these into clear cello bags and added a simple tag.  I used the Papertrey Mason Jar stamp on white paper, cut it out  and then punched out heart from red paper and glued it to the jar.  I punched a hole towards the top of the mason jar and tied it to the cello bag with - Baker's Twine.  On the back of the jar tag we wrote, "Valentine, You're all of my favorite things rolled into one!"

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day

I love Valentines Day... not for the romantic expectations, but for the abundance of hearts, the colors red, pink, black and white and the excuse to eat as much chocolate as your belly can take!!!  I'm expecting a lot from my belly, thanks to my wonderful Husband (and Dad) who kept the Logan's Candy Shop tradition alive and well!

Unfortunately, even tho I love Valentine's Day, I don't have a Valentine's project to share... we've been in baby shower project creating madness around here.  But I have another boy card to share...
{Birthday Soaring Your Way... Card}

I used October Afternoon and The Girls Paperie for this card.  The clouds are cut using a QuicKutz cloud, the circle label is from October Afternoon along with the date tag, the plane is from Sassafras... I love this card!

And since it is Valentine's Day and I don't have much to offer you, here's a sampling of "lovely" projects that I found at CHA - enjoy this moment of love!

{Shirts by Silhouette team, love the Hug Me - using iron on material}
{Maya Roads canvas banner - I'm banana's over turning it into a pocket!}
{Maya Roads - I love the silhouette and the banner... tres chic!}
{7Gypsies card... their whole booth was an inspiration}
{I'm not sure where it's home is... but it's super sweet!}
{These pin cushion's aren't my grandmas pin cushions!  Jenni Bowlin awesomeness...}

See you all tomorrow!  Hope you're super busy loving people and being loved!

The Whole Pictures

And here it is, in it's entirety!  I am crazy for this banner.  I think it's so pretty, and vintage and cool and ... I just really like the way it all came together.

I had a great time yesterday, teaching this class to a fun group of ladies at Pages from the Heart in Monrovia... in fact, I felt like I did very little teaching and just chatted with new friends!  Kathy (Pages owner) is in the midst of moving to a new location, still in Monrovia, so if you're in that area after Tuesday, stop by and see the new shop!

Until tomorrow -

And the last little piece...

Here's the final piece of the banner that I want to share with you before tomorrow.  I'm also sharing 2 cards that I made from the banner scraps.

(V - Love Banner)

(Make Someone Happy Card)

(Hugs and Kisses Card)

You might think that the last card, Hugs and Kisses, looks a little familiar... and you'd be right!  A few posts ago I shared some Valentine's Cards that I taught at a class and I basically used the same layout, but switched the paper and left a little out and here we are!  I'm not sure which card I like best!

The banner class is being taught tomorrow at Pages From the Heart in Monrovia, which is full.  Sorry!  But if you're interested in a kit, please let me know!

Thanks!
Andrea

May I have another, Sir?

Of course, I would love to share another piece of my project with you!  I bet you've probably figured it out, but I do love a little suspense, so I'm sticking with it!  Here's the "O" - as in, OOOhhhh - I lOve this!

My inspiration for this project came on "Black Friday", when I was at my LSS and found Cosmo Cricket's Blackboard Flirt Album for only $1!  Can you believe that?  Me neither, which is why I picked up 5 of them, and now wish I'd bought 10!  I LOVE Cosmo Cricket's Blackboard... not only can you cover it with paper and not be worried about ugly edges or the back, but you can use color pencils, pastels, pigment ink, embossing powder, rub-ons or paint on it!  Super cool.  I love a product that lets me play and discover...

See you tomorrow for the last day of sneak peaks!

A little more...

And here's another little piece of the puzzle...

Don't you just love the little crystal drops? I actually purchased these when we were moving into our house 2.5 years ago to hang on a chandelier that I refurbished... it was this yucky brass color and I sanded it and painted it a mat black and distressed the edges to let the gold shine through and I totally lurved it... and then we realized that it wasn't going to work anywhere in our house... bummer. But, at least I was able to use the little drops still!

See you all tomorrow!

Under Construction and a little bit of Love....

Hello, Hello!  Happy Wednesday to everyone... today seemed to drag for me.  There was so much that I wanted to accomplish but didn't, which is super frustrating!  I did, however, spend some serious time "fixing" my blog - specifically, my past posts!

Ever since I started my blog, I've been wondering how people get pictures in the middle of their posts???  The other day, my friend, who just started her own blog (click here to see) had pictures in her blog and I was all, "WHAT!!?  How did she do that?", which promptly started a long convo via text.  So, now that I have been let into the world of pics in posts, I've decided to go back through all of my old posts and add the pictures... which is turning out to be a very time consuming and boring project but I really want my blog to look professional so this is just the means to the end!  So please be patient with me... the post today was actually from October - opps!  It was in my drafts file and I edited it and posted it thinking that it'd back post to when I wrote it but I was wrong.  So, happy Halloween in January, everyone!

And last, here's a sneak peak at a banner that I'm teaching at Pages from the Heart in Monrovia this weekend... I'm only going to give you 1 letter a day to keep you coming back for more!
(L - Love Banner)

I used mostly American Crafts Valentines paper with a little hint of October Afternoon's Thrift Shop paper.

See you tomorrow!
